Breed Description:

The Yorkipoo breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Yorkshire Terrier with the Toy or Miniature Poodle.  Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next.  Generally, the Yorkipoo will have qualities of both parents.  They are a toy to small sized breed of dog that has a slightly longer body than height. They are usually compact and robust without a truly delicate look to them.  The breed usually has small ears that hang down the side of the head and a small muzzle in a slightly flat skull. The top line is usually straight and level and the tail is long, although it can be carried both high and low.

The coat of the Yorkipoo can range with some dogs having the long silky coat seen in the Yorkshire Terrier parent and others having the medium length, curly coat that is found in the Poodle parent.  A third Yorkipoo can have a medium length coat with slight curls and the silky texture of the Yorkshire Terrier.  All three coats should have a dense, short undercoat that is soft to the touch. They can be found in a range of colors that is seen in both breeds including cream, black, white, tan, grizzle, silver and apricot and they can also have any color patterns including parti.
