Breed Description:

The Yorkie-Apso breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Yorkshire Terrier with the Lhasa Apso.  Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next.  Generally, the Yorkie-Apso will have qualities of both parents.  They are a toy sized breed of dog with a slightly longer body than they are tall. They usually have the more delicate look of the Yorkshire Terrier but they have the robust look of the Lhasa Apso.  The head is usually slightly flat with a small delicate muzzle with small, folded ears that hang forward.  The tail is usually long and can curl over the back but is commonly cropped like the Yorkshire Terrier parent.

The coat is usually long with a silky texture and a soft, short undercoat.  They can be found in any of the colors of their parent breeds but are commonly found in a white or cream color.

Temperament:
The Yorkie-Apso breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. However, they are known for being an affectionate and playful little dog that will adjust to their owner's lifestyle. They are happiest when they can be with their owners and aer considered to be a very intelligent breed. The Yorkie-Apso usually does very well with other dogs and pets but they are not recommended for homes with small children since they can be very snappy at times.
