Breed Description: 

The Westiepoo breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the West Highland White Terrier with the Miniature or Toy Poodle.  Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next.  Generally, the Westiepoo will have qualities of both parents.  They are usually small in size with a compact and robust body.  They are usually found with medium sized drop ears and the muzzle is thin and long.

The coat of the Westiepoo is usually consists of two coats, the soft, short undercoat and a medium long topcoat that is dense and has a noticeable wave to it.  The Westiepoo can be found in any color common to the parent breeds but they are more commonly white.

Temperament: 
The Westiepoo breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. However, they are known for being an intelligent and brave dog that is extremely proud. In fact, they are known for being full of themselves and rarely take a second seat to anyone. The breed is usually affectionate with everyone and while they can be noisy, they aren't the best of guard dogs since they love everyone. The breed does well with other pets and usually get along well with children.

The average height of a Westiepoo is between 15 to 17 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Westiepoo is between 20 to 30 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Westiepoo breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the West Highland White Terrier and the Miniature or Toy Poodle to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Westiepoo breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Westiepoo breed of dog is an active breed that requires between 20 to 30 minutes of exercise each day. Generally, two good walks will meet their needs but it is also important to give them an opportunity for off leash exercise as well.

12 to 15 years
Grooming: 
The Westiepoo breed of dog is usually clipped for easier grooming and when they are, they can be extremely easy to care for. Clipping should be done every 6 to 8 weeks and brushing should be done once a week, unless they are in full coat when they should be brushed daily. The Westiepoo should be bathed once a month and the ears should be kept clean to prevent ear infections.
