Dog

Pronunciation:
wahy--uh-rey-nee-uhn
Breed Description:

The Weeranian breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the West Highland White Terrier with the Pomerian.  Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next.  Generally, the Weeranian will have qualities of both parents.  They are a toy sized breed of dog with a slightly longer body than they are tall. They should have a small, slightly flat head that is wedge shaped with large, erect ears that are triangular in shape. The tail can be docked but usually they are curled over the back, similar to the Pomeranian.

The coat of the Weeranian is usually medium in length with a slightly wiry feel to it. There should be double coat with a soft and short undercoat. The color of the Yoranian can be any of the two parents but it is commonly dark brown or cream with gray and white markings.

Temperament:
The Weeranian breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. However, they are known for being a loving and playful breed that is usually friendly. The breed is usually protective of their family and can often forget their small size. They generally do well with children, although they are better suited to homes with older children. They can do well with pets of all sizes. The Weeranian often tries to fit into their owner's life completely and thrive when they can spend a lot of time with them.
Height:
The average height for a Weeranian is between 7 to 12 inches.
Weight:
The average weight for a Weeranian is between 3 to 17 pounds.

The Weeranian breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the West Highland White Terrier and the Pomeranian to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions:
The Weeranian breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise:
The Weeranian breed of dog is an active breed that requires between 20 to 30 minutes of exercise each day. Generally, two good walks will meet their needs but it is also important to give them an opportunity for off leash exercise as well.
Life Expectancy:
12 to 15 years
Grooming:
The Weeranian breed of dog is an easy breed to care for and they only need to be brushed about once a week. The hair may need to be trimmed every month or two, especially around the face, ears and feet but in general, it can be left natural. The Weeranian should only be bathed when he needs it and they can easily go two or three months between baths. Nails should be kept trimmed and the ears should be cleaned on a weekly basis. If the Weeranian has a wiry coat, you will need to have it hand stripped every two or three months.
Origin:
The Weeranian breed of dog is a designer `hybrid` breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Weeranian, it is important to read up on both the West Highland White Terrier and the Pomerian.
