Breed Description: 

The Treeing Tennessee Brindle breed of dog is a medium sized breed of dog that has the overall appearance of a powerful and agile dog. They should be slightly longer than they are tall and there should be a straight back that is streamlined. The legs should be long without making the dog appear leggy and the tail should be long. The head should be broad and the ears should be medium in length and should hang down the side of the head.

The coat of the Treeing Tennessee Brindle should be short and dense and should cover the dog completely. It should be brindle in coloring.

Temperament: 
The Treeing Tennessee Brindle breed of dog is an intelligent and loyal breed that is known for being very affectionate and easy going. They are generally well-tempered and they thrive when they can be with their owner. They can be trained quite easily but they can become shy and timid if they are harshly corrected. The breed does very well with children and they are good with other dogs. They are not recommended for homes with small, non-canine pets since they do have a strong prey drive.

The breed is believed to have originated from the Old Brindle Cur and can attribute its creation to Reverend Earl Philips. The Treeing Tennessee Brindle was originally used for hunting and is still used in that capacity today.
