Dog

Pronunciation:
toi pok-ser
Breed Description:

The Toy Poxer breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Pug and the Toy Fox Terrier. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Toy Poxer will have qualities of all the parents. The breed is usually a toy sized breed of dog that should look athletic and lean. They should be compact and can have a square build or a slightly longer build. They usually have a leggy appearance with delicate legs and feet, although they should never look fragile. The head is usually slightly rounded with a short muzzle that is broad. The tail usually curls over the back of the dog.

The coat of the Toy Poxer is usually a short coat that is very dense and covers the dog completely. The hair should lay flat on the dog and create a smooth line. The texture of the coat should be slightly hard. The Toy Poxer can be found in any colors that are common in the parent breeds but the most common color is a fawn with a black mask.

Temperament:
The Toy Poxer breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are usually described as a happy and energetic breed that can be mischievous and clown like in temperament. They generally have a playful disposition and they often have a little sparkle in their eye. The Toy Poxer usually does okay with children, although they are better suited to homes with older children and they can do well with other dogs. They are not recommended for homes with small pocket pets since they can have a high prey drive.
