Dog

Pronunciation:
toks-irn
Breed Description:

The Toxirn breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Cairn Terrier with the Chihuahua. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Toxirn will have qualities of both parents. Usually they are a small to toy sized breed of dog with an almost fox like look to them. Their top line is usually level with a short tail that is carried low. The overal build should be lean without appearing too delicate and they should be slightly robust. The head is slightly appleshaped with the Cairn Terrier's medium length muzzle. The eyes are very bright and the medium sized ears are set high on the head and stand erect.

The coat of the Toxirn is usually the wiry double coat of the Cairn Terrier. It is usually medium in length with a slightly wiry texture and a soft, short undercoat. They can be found in any of the colors of their parent breeds but are commonly found in a white or cream color.

Temperament:
The Toxirn breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are usually a very intelligent and mischievous little dog that has a strong temperament. They don't usually back down from anything and will often forget their size. The Toxirn is usually very charming and often wraps their owners around their little paw. They can be very demanding but they are also a happy and playful breed that loves to lavish attention on their family. They can be suspicious of strangers and while they do okay with older children, they are not recommended for homes with younger children. The Toxirn can do very well with other dogs, especially if raised with them, but they are not recommended for homes with small pets since they can have a strong prey drive.
