Dog
Tenterfield Terrier Champions
Special thanks to Maureen Schutt of Gumhaven Kennels for her information on Tenterfield Terriers
The Tenterfield Terrier breed of dog is a small/medium sized breed of dog that should be athletic and well-balanced. They should be square in appearance, the measurement of wither to ground and wither to rear point of buttock should be of equal proportions. The head and neck should be in proportion to the rest of the body and the head should be well balanced. The top line of the Tenterfield Terrier should be level and the tail should be high set and is preferably docked to the third joint. The Tenterfield’s most unique feature is its length of tail as natural bob tails often occur in varying lengths, from no tail at all (referred to as rumpies) through to full tails. The head should be wedge shaped and the ears rather medium in size, slightly rounded at the tip, erect or semi erect, not too large at the base, nor too thick in texture.
The coat of the Tenterfield Terrier should be a short single coat and of smooth texture. The coat is predominately white with markings of black, tan or liver.

The standards for all the breeds accepted to the AKC are used here for breed information, and those not part of the AKC are resourced from FCI standard information, where it is written and coded into the club rules for those breeds.
