The result was the Tamaskan Dog, which was wolf-like in appearance and had the high intelligence and hard working nature that was desired. Although the breed was developed in the 1980's, it has been recognized by several registries and the Tamaskan Dog Register has made great gains in maintaining the health and garnering interest in the breed.
