Breed Description:

The Taco Terrier breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Chihuahua with the Toy Fox Terrier. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Taco Terrier will have qualities of both parents. Thjey are usually a toy sized breed of dog that have a slim build without appearing too fragile. They should be athletic with a body that is slightly longer than they are tall. Their heads should be wedge shaped with a slightly apple shaped skull. The ears are large and should be held erect and high on the head, although some can have ears that fold forward, while the tail is medium in length and tapers to a point.

The coat of the Taco Terrier should be short and close to the skin. It should densely cover the dog and it should have a slightly coarse texture. It can be found in any colors of the parent breeds, however, white with tan or brown markings is one of the more common coat colors.

Temperament:
The Taco Terrier breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are known for being an active breed that is usually very outgoing and affectionate. They are loyal to their families and often entertain them with their mischievous nature. The Taco Terrier is very intelligent and while they can train quite easily, you should never expect them to simply give in to things. The breed can do well with other dogs, however, they can often have a high prey drive and are not recommended for homes with smaller, non-canine pets. The breed is usually suspicious of strangers and can make an excellent watch dog, however, their small size makes them unsuitable for guarding. The breed does okay with children but their small size makes them better suited to homes with older children.
