Breed Description:

The Swissneese breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Great Pyrenees with the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. They should have a powerful and sturdy build and they are usually slightly longer than they are tall with a level top line. The head is usually broad with a slightly thinner muzzle. The ears of the Swissneese are usually medium in length and hang down the side of the head while the tail is usually long and carried low.

The coat of the Swissneese can range from the short dense coat of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog to the long, thick coat of the Great Pyrenees. Usually, it is medium in length with a thick, dense undercoat. There is usually shorter hair on the head, sides and belly with longer hair on the center of the back. Feathering can occur on the chest, ears and back of the legs and a mane can be present on the neck. The long tail is usually covered by very long hair with a slight feathering to it. The coat is usually straight but there can be a slight wave. The Swissneese can be found in any colors of the parent breeds but the most common is white with apricot or tan markings.
