Breed Description:

The Shorkie Tzu breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Yorkshire Terrier with the Shih Tzu. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Shorkie Tzu will have qualities of both parents. They are a toy sized breed of dog with a slightly longer body than they are tall. They usually have the more delicate look of the Yorkshire Terrier but they have the robust look of the Shih Tzu as well. The head is usually slightly flat with a small delicate muzzle and small, folded ears that hang forward. The tail is usually long and can curl over the back but is commonly cropped like the Yorkshire Terrier parent.

The coat is usually long with a silky texture and a soft, short undercoat. They can be found in any of the colors of their parent breeds, however, black and white parti-color is a common color seen.

Temperament:
The Shorkie Tzu breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly.
