Breed Description:

The Shinese breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Pekingnese with the Shih Tzu. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Shinese will have qualities of both of the parents. They are usually a small sized dog that is slightly longer than they are tall with a robust build that is well-balanced.  The muzzle is very short and the head is round.  The ears are long and hang on the side of the head and the tail is usually long.

The coat of the Shinese is long and silky to the touch. Feathering can usually be seen on the ears, tail, chest and legs and the hair on the head is often shorter, although there is still an evident topknot.  The Shinese can be found in all colors, although cream is the most common color.
