Breed Description: 

The Schnese breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Miniature Schnauzer with the Havanese. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Schnese will have qualities of all the parents. They are often described as a teddy bear dog since they resemble one so completely. The breed is a toy to small sized breed with a compact and robust build that is slightly longer than they are tall. They usually have a curled tail and small ears that hang down the side of the head. The muzzle is short, giving them the teddy bear look.

The coat of the Schnese usually consists of a double coat with a soft, short undercoat and a fluffy topcoat that is medium in length and very soft. The coat can be found in any color or marking but the common color black grizzled with gray.

Temperament: 
The Schnese breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are a happy and affectionate breed. They can be active but usually fit their energy levels into their owners lives. They usually get along well with everyone but some can be reserved with strangers. The Schnese is an intelligent breed that can learn quickly and they are usually eager to please their owners. They can do well with other dogs in the home but they may not be ideal for homes with small family pets and rodents. They Schnese is usually a quiet dog but some can be nuisance barkers.

The Schnese breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Schnese breed of dog is an active breed that does require about 30 minutes of exercise each day. They do much better when they can have both on leash and off leash exercise and they love an opportunity to chase things.

Grooming: 
The Schnese breed of dog should be brushed once or twice a week to keep the coat tidy. They should also be bathed once or twice a month and the ears should be cleaned on a regular basis.
