Breed Description: 

The Schneagle breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Miniature Schnauzer and the Beagle. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Schneagle will have qualities of all the parents. They should be a small sized breed of dog that should be compact and athletic in appearance. They should be slightly longer than they are tall with a level top line and a medium length tail that is carried high. The tail should be straight and long and some owners opt to have it docked. The head of the Schneagle should be broad with a medium length muzzle. The eyes should be large and the medium length ears should hang slightly to the side of the head.

The coat of the Schneagle can range from the short coat of the Beagle to the wiry coat of the Miniature Schnauzer. Usually it is a medium length coat that is wiry in texture and dense. It should cover the dog completely and should have a dense undercoat. The color of the Schneagle can be any color that is found in the parent breeds but tan and black tends to be a common coat color.

Temperament: 
The Schneagle breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. The Scheagle is a fun loving breed that is known for being affectionate, playful and charming. They can be a stubborn breed so it is important for owners to be patient nad firm with them. The Schneagle is usually very cheerful and while they are friendly with other dogs and strangers, the breed may have a strong prey drive making it unsuitable for homes with smaller pets. If they Schneagle takes after their Beagle parent, then they can be a wonderful breed for families, however, many times they can be snappish around small children and care should be taken when introducing this dog to young children. The breed is usually happy to spend all their time with their owners and can become quite protective of them.

Health Problems: 
The Schneagle breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on the Beagle and the Miniature Schnauzer to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Schneagle breed of dog may not be suitable for apartments if they take after their Beagle parent, which is a very vocal breed. The ideal is a home with a fenced yard and they should not be an outdoor dog. A fence is important with this breed since they can have a strong prey drive and may chase after other animals. In addition, they often follow their nose, even if it leads them into dangerous situations.
Exercise: 
The Schneagle breed of dog is a very energetic breed of dog and will need about 45 to 60 minutes of exercise each day to stay healthy and happy.
Life Expectancy: 
10 to 15 years
Grooming: 
The Schneagle breed of dog should be brushed once or twice a week to keep the coat tidy. They should also be bathed once or twice a month and the ears should be cleaned on a regular basis. The Schneagle should have the coat trimmed every few months and this includes trimming around the ears and feet and also of the beard. In addition, it may be necessary to hand strip the coat to remove dead hairs and if this is the case, then the coat should be stripped every two to three months.
Origin: 
The Schneagle breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Schnese, it is important to read up on both the Miniature Schnauzer and the Beagle.
