Breed Description: 

The Schipper-Poo breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Miniature or Toy Poodle and the Schipperke. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Schipper-Poo will have qualities of all the parents. They are a small to toy sized breed of dog that should be compact and robust. The body should be slightly longer than they are tall and the head should be wedge shaped with a slightly rounded skull and slightly square muzzle. The ears should be large and should be carried erect high on the head. The tail is either non-existant or long.

The coat of the Schipper-Poo can either be teh dense, harsh coat of the Schipperke or the curly coat of the Poodle. Usually, the coat is medium in length with a dense undercoat. The top coat is usually curly and there is usually face furnishings. The texture is usually hard and many have a wiry coat. The Schipper-Poo can be any color of the parent breeds but the most common color is black.

Temperament: 
The Schipper-Poo breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are usually a very intelligent breed of dog that is reserved with people. While they can be affectionate, they are not an overly clingy breed and they don't mind being on their own. The breed is usually very playful and they can be very clown like in their temperament. The Schipper-Poo does well with children but may be better suited to homes with older children. The breed does well with other dogs but may not be recommended for homes with smaller non-canine pets.

Health Problems: 
The Schipper-Poo breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on the Miniature or Toy Poodle and the Schipperke to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Schipper-Poo breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Schipper-Poo breed of dog can be an active breed but usually they adapt to the lifestyle of their owners. They should have two good walks will meet their needs but it is also important to give them an opportunity for off leash exercise as well.

10 to 15 years
Grooming: 
The Schipper-Poo breed of dog is often clipped to keep grooming to a minimal. If they are clipped,they only need to be brushed once a week but in a full coat, expect to brush them two or three times per week. The Mauzer only needs to be bathed when necessary and they can go several months before needing a bath.
Origin: 
The Schipper-Poo breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Schipper-Poo, it is important to read up on both the Miniature and Toy Poodle and the Schipperke.
