Breed Description: 

The Pugalier breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Pug and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Pugalier will have qualities of all the parents. They are a small sized breed of dog that should be compact and robust.  The build should be slightly longer than they are tall with short legs and a medium length tail that usually curls over the back of the dog.  The head should be broad with wide set ears that are folded forward. The muzzle should be short, however, it should be a mixture of the longer Cavalier King Charles Spaniel muzzle and the Pug muzzle.

The coat of the Pugalier can range from the short, hard Pug coat to the long Cavalier King Charles Spaniel coat, however, the average coat is short with an obvious undercoat. It should have a velvety look to it and should be slightly soft to the touch.  The color can be any that is found in the parent breeds, however, tan with a black mask is the most common coat color.

Temperament: 
The Pugalier breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are usually described as a happy and affectionate dog that has a sweet temperament and usually gets along with everyone. They can be energetic but often, their clown like antics will allow them to burn energy fairly easily. The Pugalier does very well with other dogs and cats adn can thrive in a multi-pet home. In fact, this is a very social breed that loves being with people aand animals alike. The Pugalier does very well with children of all ages and can make an excellent family dog.

The average height for a Pugalier is between 12 to 15 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight for a Pugalier is between 12 to 18 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Pugalier breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on the Pug and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Pugalier breed of dog is a versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Pugalier breed of dog is an active breed that requires between 20 to 30 minutes of exercise each day. Generally, two good walks will meet their needs but it is also important to give them an opportunity for off leash exercise as well.

10 to 15 years
Grooming: 
The Pugalier breed of dog is a very easy breed to groom and they require little to no maintenance to keep their coats healthy. On average, you should expect to brush your dog on a weekly basis to remove dead hairs and dirt. A wipe down with a damp cloth will keep them clean and they should only be bathed when it is absolutely necessary. Ears should be cleaned on a regular basis and nails should be clipped once or twice a month.
Origin:
