Breed Description:

The Poovanese breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Havanese with the Poodle. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Poovanese will have qualities of all the parents. They are often described as a teddy bear dog since they resemble one so completely. The breed is a toy to small sized breed with a compact and robust build that is slightly longer than they are tall. They usually have a curled tail and small ears that hang down the side of the head. The muzzle is short, giving them the teddy bear look.

The coat of the Poovanese usually consists of a double coat with a soft, short undercoat and a fluffy topcoat that is medium in length and very soft. The coat can be found in any color or marking but the most common color is white.
