Cat

Breed Description:

A cat that is born with genetic mutations consisting of Polydactyl feet (extra toes) and no tail, or a short tail (Bob tail).

Living Conditions:
Extra digits in Combination with a "bob" tail do not require specific living conditions. These cats have a reputation of being lucky amongst sailors.
Grooming:
Grooming is specific to the breed, not the number of digits. Extra digits do not require additional grooming beyond checking their claws weekly.
Origin:
Polydactyly, or extra digits, is a common trait among cats, particularly it seems, among Celtic cats and cats on part of America's Eastern coast and South West Britain. This distribution may well be linked. Polydactyly is not a product of bad breeding. It is simply a naturally occurring genetic variation.
