Breed Description:

The Pineranian breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Miniature Pinscher and the Pomeranian. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Pineranian will have qualities of all the parents. They are a toy sized breed of dog that should be compact and robust.  They should have an athletic appearance with delicate legs and feet but they should never appear fragile.  The top line usually slopes slightly and the dog should have a somewhat square build with the length equaling the height. The head is usually the wedge-shape of the Miniature Pincher adn the small triangular ears are usually set high on the head and stand erect. The Pineranian usually has a medium length tail that curls slightly.

The coat of the Pineranian is closer to the short coat of the Miniature Pinscher but it is slightly thicker and slightly longer, while still being short.  The hair should lay flat on the dog and create a smooth line. The texture of the coat should be slightly hard. The Pineranian can be found in any colors that are common in the parent breeds but the most common color is the black with tan points that is common in the Miniature Pinscher.

Temperament:
The Pineranian breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are usually a very intelligent and mischievous breed that often has a sparkle in their eyes and a smile on their face. The breed loves being with their owners and will fit themselves into their owner's life, whether they are at home or traveling. The breed is usually suspicious of strangers but with family, they are warm and affectionate. The Pineranian does have a fair amount of energy and they can be very playful. The breed does well with children, but their size makes them better suited to homes with older children. They may have aggression problems with other dogs and they may have the high prey drive of the Miniature Pinscher, making them unsuitable for homes with small pocket pets.

The average height for a Pineranian is between 7 to 12 inches.

The average of the Pineranian is between 3 to 10 pounds.
