Breed Description: 

The Petite Goldendoodle breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Poodle, Golden Retriever and the Cocker Spaniel. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Petite Goldendoodle will have qualities of all the parents. They are usually a medium sized breed with a build that is slightly longer than they are tall. They should be well-built without being overweight and should have the appearance of a robust dog.

The coat of the Petite Goldendoodle can range but it is usually about 2 or 3 inches in length with wavy to tightly curled hair. Hair on the tail, legs, body, and ears are usually longer and slightly feathered, while the hair on the head and muzzle is shorter. The Petite Goldendoodle can be found in a range of colors that are common for all the parent breeds including the yellow of the Golden Retriever, which ranges from creme to rich golden. In addition black, white, apricoat, gray, copper, parti-color and red can also be seen.

Temperament: 
The Petite Goldendoodle breed of dog is a breed that is known for being very affectionate and loyal. They make a wonderful family companion and tend to get along well with everyone. They do very well with children and are usually very patient with young and old alike. The Petite Goldendoodle is usually eager to please but they do have a playful side and can be the "Peter Pan" of the dog world. It is important to give this dog proper training and to be patient with his young personality.

The average weight for a Petite Goldendoodle is between 25 to 40 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Petite Goldendoodle breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on the Poodle, Golden Retriever and the Cocker Spaniel to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Petite Goldendoodle breed of dog can do well in apartments if they are properly exercised, however, the ideal location is a home with a small fenced yard.
Exercise: 
The Petite Goldendoodle breed of dog is an active dog but they actually have an average energy level. This means that they don't require as much exercise as many other breeds but you should still expect about 30 minutes of exercise per day.

Grooming: 
The Petite Goldendoodle breed of dog can be very easy to groom if you keep the coat clipped short. If you keep them in their full coat, then you should expect to brush your dog two or three times per week and you will need to constantly work out mats and debris from the coat. Many Miniature Goldendoodle owners opt to clip the coat and this should be done every 6 to 8 weeks. When they do, the breed is very easy to care for and only require weekly brushings to keep the coat tidy. Bathing should be done when it is necessary and a Miniature Goldendoodle can go several months between baths. Special care should be given to the ears since the breed can be susceptible to ear infections so it is important to wash the ears on a regular basis and to keep them dry.

The Petite Goldendoodle breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so.
