Breed Description: 

The Peke-A-Pin breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Pekingese and the Miniature Pinscher. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Peke-A-Pin will have qualities of all the parents. They should be a toy sized breed of dog that is compact but still have a delicate and slightly athletic look to them. The body is usually slightly longer than the dog is tall and the top line is level. The head is usually round with a very short and delicate looking muzzle, although it is not as short as a Pekingese. The eyes are large and the triangular shaped ears are usually folded forward. The tail of the Peke-A-Pin is usually short.

The coat of the Peke-A-Pin is usually a short coat that is very dense and covers the dog completely. The hair should lay flat on the dog and create a smooth line. The texture of the coat should be slightly hard. The Peke-A-Pin can be found in any colors that are common in the parent breeds but the most common color is black with tan points similar to the Miniature Pinscher parent

Temperament: 
The Peke-A-Pin breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. They are usually known for their bright eyed temperament and their intelligence. The Peke-A-Pin is not your ordinary companion breed and they can be hard working and energetic. They often have an ability to get into trouble but they also pair their mischievous streak with a playful and affectionate nature. The breed can do very well with children of all ages, but some caution may be needed, especially if they take after their Pekingese parent. The breed can also do well with other dogs but they may have a high prey drive making them unsuitable for homes with smaller non-canine pets.

The average weight for a Peke-A-Pin is between 8 to 10 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Peke-A-Pin breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on the Miniature Pinscher and the Pekingese to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Peke-A-Pin breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Peke-A-Pin breed of dog is a very energetic breed of dog and will need about 45 to 60 minutes of exercise each day to stay healthy and happy. It is important to note that the breed will become very destructive if they are bored so exercise is very important.

Grooming: 
The Peke-A-Pin breed of dog is a very easy breed to groom and they require little to no maintenance to keep their coats healthy. On average, you should expect to brush your dog on a weekly basis to remove dead hairs and dirt. A wipe down with a damp cloth will keep them clean and they should only be bathed when it is absolutely necessary. Ears should be cleaned on a regular basis and nails should be clipped once or twice a month.
