Dog
The Papshund breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Papillon and the Dachshund. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Papshund will have qualities of all the parents. They are a small to toy sized breed of dog that should be robust and slightly elongated. Generally, puppies take after the Papillon parent and will have longer legs instead of the short, low slung body of the Daschund. The head is usually broad and wedge shaped and the ears are large and erect, with the characteristic butterfly wing shape of the Papillon. The top line is usually level and the tail should curl over the back.
The coat of the Papshund is usually medium in length with a short undercoat and a longer top coat. The texture should be silky and there should be a natural gloss to the coat. The breed can be found in any color that is common for the parent breeds, however, the most common coat color is black.
