Pronunciation:

Breed Description:

The Nebolish Mastiff breed of dog is a giant sized breed.  There is strong debate on whether it is a designer breed or simply a breed in development but either way, it should be a sturdily built dog with a muscular build.  The head should be large and the chest should be large giving a slightly top heavy look. The body is slightly longer than tall and the tail is long but is commonly docked.

The coat of the Nebolish Mastiff ranges in length from short to long, but the desired is a medium-short coat that is rough to the touch and covers the dog completely.  The coat color of the Nebolish Mastiff can be fawn or brindle with or without a black mask.  There can be white markings but the preference is for a solid color.  Occasionally, although it is rare, the coat can be silver, usually without the mask, and this is accepted by breeders.

Wiping them down with a damp cloth should keep them clean and the ears should be washed on a weekly basis to prevent ear infections.
Origin:
The Nebolish Mastiff breed of dog was developed in Canada in the late 1960's. It is not officially recognized by any kennel club except the Continental Kennel Club and there is currently no breed standard or breeding true to type. There is significant debate on the validity of the breed and many feel that it is a designer breed. However, it may be better to say that it is a breed in development and there is effort to have the Nebolish Mastiff not only breed true to type but become a recognized breed. That being said, there is no clear indication as to the breeds that went into the Nebolish Mastiff, although we do know that it was developed in Canada. There is strong evidence that both the English Mastiff and the Neapolitan Mastiff are foundation dogs to the breed and some evidence has indicated that the Dogue de Bordeaux, the Bull Mastiff, the St. Bernard, the Great Dane, and the Boxer may also have been used.
