Dog
Native American Shepherd Champions
The Native American Shepherd breed of dog is a designer breed that was developed by crossing the Belgian Sheepdog with the Native American Indian Dog. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Native American Shepherd will have qualities of both parents. They are usually a large sized breed of dog that has a robust build that is both athletic and sturdy. They usually have a wedge shaped head with large, erect ears that are set high on the head. The tail is usually long and full and the body is usually slightly longer than they are tall. The Native American Shepherd can be found in several coat types from short to long and it depends on the parent that they take after and the variety of coat the Native American Indian Dog had. Generally, all of the coats are dense and should cover the dog completely. They can be found in a number of coat types that are common to both parent breeds.
