Breed Description: 

The Muggin breed of dog was developed by crossing the Pug with the Miniature Pinscher. This created a breed that is small in size but big in personality. They are usually stocky in build and very compact. They are slightly longer than they are tall and have a curled tail. The head is usually round with a short muzzle that is closer in shape to the Miniature Pinscher.

The coat of the Muggin is short and smooth and it should cover the dog completely. They can be found in several colors including black, fawn, stag red, which is red with black hairs, chocolate and tan, silver, apricot and black and tan, but the most common color is fawn with a black mask.

Temperament: 
The Muggin breed of dog is an affectionate breed that generally gets along well with everyone. They have a very clown-like temperament and love making people laugh with their antics. They are very loyal and devoted to their families and tend to get along with everyone, even strangers. They are exceptional with children and usually do well with other pets, although they may chase smaller animals.
Height: 
The average height of a Muggin is between 10 to 20 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Muggin is between 8 to 20 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Muggin breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Miniature Pinscher and the Pug to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Muggin breed of dog can do very well in apartments, however, it is important to note that the Muggin tends to be a very noisy breed and there may be problems in apartments, especially if your building has noise restrictions. They can be susceptible to cold so they should always be bundled up before venturing outside during cold weather and they should not be outdoor dogs.
Exercise: 
The Muggin breed of dog is very active and usually needs about 30 mintues of exercise each day. It is important for them to have two or three good walks and to also have some time to play off leash, although they should only be off leash when they are in a secure area.

12 to 15 years
Grooming: 
The Muggin breed of dog usually only needs one brushing per week to keep their coat free from dirt and dead hair. In addition, bathing should only be done when it is necessary and they can go several weeks before they need a bath. Some Muggins can have a wrinkles and a corkscrew tail and if they do, they should be washed everyday to keep infections from occurring. It is also important to keep the wrinkles dry and to dust them with baby powder.
Origin: 
The Muggin breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Muggin, it is important to read up on both the Miniature Pinscher and the Pug.
