Breed Description: 

The Miniature Schnoxie breed of dog is small breed that was developed by crossing the Miniature Schnauzer and the Dachshund. The result was a dog that is slightly longer than they are tall with the short legs of the Dachshund and the sturdy and compact build of the Miniature Schnauzer. The Miniature Schnoxie usually has the rectangular head of the Miniature Schnauzer and the small folded ears.

The coat of the Miniature Schnoxie ranges from short to medium in length and it usually has a course or wiry texture.  They usually have the beard and bushy eyebrows of a Miniature Schnauzer and they can be found in a range of colors including brown, black, salt and pepper and black and white.

Temperament: 
The Miniature Schnoxie breed of dog is a friendly and affectionate breed that can be feisty. They are not the easiest breed to train and can often be very stubborn if they choose to be. They generally get along well with everyone but they are not the best breed for young children since both the Miniature Schnoxie and the Dachshund can be snappy towards them. They are usually a very curious breed and can be extremely playful and clown like in temperament.

The average height of a Miniature Schnoxie is between 14 to 20 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Miniature Schnoxie is between 10 to 20 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Miniature Schnoxie breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Dachshund and the Miniature Schnauzer to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Miniature Schnoxie breed of dog is not recommended for apartments, although they are a smaller breed. They have a fair amount of energy and need a yard to run in. They are not meant to be outdoor dogs and should live inside with their owners.
Exercise: 
The Miniature Schnoxie is an active breed that does require about 30 minutes of exercise each day. They do much better when they can have both on leash and off leash exercise and they love an opportunity to chase things.
Life Expectancy: 
15 to 18 years
Grooming: 
The Miniature Schnoxie breed of dog should be brushed once or twice a week to keep the coat tidy. They should also be bathed once or twice a month and the ears should be cleaned on a regular basis. The Miniature Schnoxie should have the coat trimmed every few months and this includes trimming around the ears and feet and also of the beard.
Origin: 
The Miniature Schnoxie breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Miniature Schnoxie, it is important to read up on both the Dachshund and the Miniature Schnauzer.
