Breed Description: 

The Labany breed of dog is a medium sized breed of dog that is the result of crossing the Labrador Retriever with the Britanny Spaniel. The dog is usually smaller than a standard Labrador Retriever but it still has the athletic shape and is slightly longer than it is tall.  The tail is long and full and the head is wide with a smaller muzzle, giving it a more delicate appearance. The coat is short to medium in length with feathering on the ears, legs and tail.  They can be black, chocolate, yellow, orange and white, liver and white, black and white in color.  They can also be liver tri-color, and black tricolor

Temperament: 
The Labany breed of dog is an energetic but gentle breed. They are very affectionate and usually do well with in homes with children, even very young children. They also do very well in multi-pet families and generally get along with everyone. They can be easy to train and since both parent breeds are working breeds, they are always happiest when they have something to do.
Height: 
The average weight of the Labany is between 18 to 22 inches. They are usually slightly smaller than a Labrador Retriever.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Labany is between 30 to 70 pounds
Health Problems: 
The Labany breed of dog has no known health problems. However, potential owners should be aware of hereditary problems in the parent breeds such as hip dysplasia and epilepsy.
Living Conditions: 
The Labany breed of dog will need a large fenced yard. They are high energy and are not recommended for apartments or homes where they can't run off leash.
Exercise: 
Exercise is a must with this breed and they should be given about 60 minutes per day, both on lead and off.
Life Expectancy: 
10 to 12 years
Grooming: 
The Labany breed of dog has a slightly longer coat than other Labrador Retriever hybrids and because of this,there is a little more to grooming the breed. However, it is not by much and you only need to brush the coat two or three times per week to keep it free from mats. With bathing, once every few months is usually enough to keep the dog clean and tidy.
Origin: 
The Labany breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Labany, it is important to read up on both the Labrador Retriever and the Brittany Spaniel.
