Breed Description: 

The Lab-Pointer breed of dog is a crossbreed between the Labrador Retriever and the Pointer, the Lab-Pointer is a medium sized dog that has an athletic build. They are generally very sleek in appearance with a thin body that is slightly longer than tall. The head is square in shape and the ears are set slightly high on the head and hand to the side.  They have a long tail that tapers to a point and their coat is smooth and short.  They can have a number of coat colors including chocolate, yellow, black,white, lemon, orange, or liver. They can have any type of markings including patched and speckled in any of the colors mentioned above.

Temperament: 
The Lab-Pointer breed of dog is a happy breed that loves being with the people in their lives. They tend to be very sweet in temperament and usually get along with everyone, animal and people alike. They do well with children but can be a true companion to any child. They are usually very patient and if they take after their Pointer parent, they can be slightly reserved with strangers.
Height: 
The average height of a Lab-Pointer is between 21 to 24 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Lab-Pointer is between 40 to 70 pounds, although they tend to be around the 50 pound mark.
Health Problems: 
The Lab-Pointer breed of dog has no known health problems, however, hip dysplasia is a concern for both parent breeds and may be seen in the Lab-Pointer.
Living Conditions: 
The Lab-Pointer breed of dog has a calm temperament but this breed is very active and is not recommended for apartments. The ideal living conditions is a home with a large fenced yard.
Exercise: 
The Lab-Pointer breed of dog is an active breed and they should get two or three walks per day to meet their exercise needs. Lack of proper exercise can lead to destructive habits in the breed.
Life Expectancy: 
10 to 14 years
Grooming: 
The Lab-Pointer breed of dog only needs to be brushed once per week and stays fairly clean if given a few baths each year. A wipe down with a damp cloth is often enough to keep the breed tidy. Care should be given to the ears since ear infections can be a problem. Wiping down the ears once a week will solve many of the ear problems.
Origin: 
The Lab-Pointer breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Lab-Pointer, it is important to read up on both the Labrador Retriever and the Pointer.
