Breed Description: 

The Jatzu breed of dog is a small dog that was developed by crossing the Japanese Chin with the Shih Tzu. They should be robust in build with a body that is slightly longer than it is tall. The legs should be thick but long and the head should be slightly rounded with a short muzzle. Ears should hang on the side of the head but placed fairly high.

The coat of the Jatzu is usually medium in length and thick. It should have a fluffy appearance and should be soft to the touch. The most common color for the Jatzu is apricot or white, but they can be any color including black and white, gray, brown,white with lemon, white with brindle, white with sable or white with orange, black, or cream.

Temperament: 
The Jatzu breed of dog is a very happy breed that has a clown like personality. They love to make people laugh and thrive when they have someone to spend time with. They can be active but in general, they usually fit themselves to their owners lifestyle. So if you are active, the Jatzu will be active but if you like to curl up with a book, the Jatzu is happy being there with you. They are very friendly with everyone and do very well in multi-dog and multi-pet homes. In addition, they are exceptional with children and make a very gentle and patient family pet.

The average height of a Jatzu is 8 to 11 inches.

Health Problems: 
The Jatzu breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Japanese Chin and the Shih Tzu to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for
Living Conditions: 
The Jatzu breed of dog is versatile and can live just about anywhere. They do very well in apartments but should not be an outdoor dog.
Exercise: 
The Jatzu breed of dog doesn't need a lot of exercise but you should expect to give them one or two walks a day to keep them fit. As mentioned above, the Jatzu will fit your exercise wants so if you prefer a dog that is active, the Jatzu will be happy to accommodate you.

Grooming: 
The Jatzu breed of dog is usually kept clipped to make grooming easier. When they are clipped, they only need to be brushed once a week and should be bathed once or twice every two or three months. If they are kept in their full coat, they should be brushed daily and bathed once or twice a month. The hair under their ears and on their feet should be trimmed to keep them clean and to prevent matting and infections.
Origin: 
The Jatzu breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Jatzu, it is important to read up on both the Japanese Chin and the Shih Tzu.
