Dog

Pronunciation:
jap-uh-lon
Breed Description:

The Japillion breed of dog is a small sized breed that was developed by crossing the Japanese Chin with the Papillon. The result was a small breed with short legs and a slightly elongated body that is well-formed and balanced. The breed should be heavier than the Papillon but should not be too heavy or overweight.  The tail of the Japillon should curl over the back with a loose curl.  The muzzle of the Japillon is short.

The coat of the Japillon is fluffy and medium in length. It is usually silky to the touch and the coat covers the dog completely. The common color of the Japillon is primarily white with either black or tan markings, however, they can also be primarily white with red, sable, brindle, lemon, brown, blue, gray, or orange markings.

he Japillon has a long coat that consists mainly of white as a primary colour and black or tan as a secondary colour. Although the mix can produce a squash-face resembling the Japanese Chin (or spaniel), it is far more common to produce a snout resembling that of the Papillon. The tail is long and very fluffy and as such must be brushed to prevent matting in dogs older than 1yr. Very smart, intelligent eyes. Full grown stands at about mid-calf.
