Breed Description: 

The Jackie-Bichon breed of dog was developed by crossing the Jack Russel Terrier with the Bichon Frise.  It is a small breed that is compact and slightly longer than it is tall. It isn't as leggy as a Jack Russel Terrier but it has the same athletic build. They have the appearance of a very energetic breed that is always ready for some mischief. The tail is medium in length and is usually straight, although some have a slight curl to it.

The coat of the Jackie-Bichon is slightly curled, soft and medium in length. They are considered to be hypo-allergenic and the common coat color is pure white or white with apricot, tan, black, or brown markings.

Temperament: 
The Jackie-Bichon breed of dog is an active breed that is playful and funny to watch. They are filled with character and are always looking for something to get in to. They are very loyal to their family and tend to love everyone. They usually adore children and make excellent family dogs. In addition, they often do very well with other dogs but they may chase smaller household pets if they are not trained properly. The Jackie-Bichon does enjoy being with their family and they can suffer from separation anxiety if they are left alone for long periods.

The average height of a Jackie-Bichon is between 9 to 15 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Jackie-Bichon is between 7 to 18 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Jackie-Bichon breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Bichon Frise and the Jack Russell Terrier to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for
Living Conditions: 
The Jackie-Bichon breed of dog can live in apartments if they are properly exercised, however, a home with a yard is ideal for this breed. A fence yard is a must for the Jackie-Bichon since the breed is prone to running off and chasing animals and other interesting things.
Exercise: 
The Jackie-Bichon breed of dog is an energetic breed and they should have between 20 and 30 minutes of exercise each day. They do need both on leash and off leash exercise to stay happy and it is important to keep them on leash when they aren't in a secure area to prevent them from wandering away.
Life Expectancy: 
14 to 16 years
Grooming: 
The Jackie-Bichon breed of dog is usually kept clipped to keep the grooming to a minimum and if it is kept short, the coat only needs to be brushed on a weekly basis. If it is kept in full coat, then expect to brush your Jackie-Bichon two or three times a week. Bathing can be done when the dog needs it or you can bath them as frequently as two or three times a month. Ears should be kept clean to prevent ear infections.
Origin: 
The Jackie-Bichon breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so.
