Dog

Pronunciation:
ja-kairn
Breed Description:

The Jacairn was developed by crossing the Jack Russel Terrier with a Cairn Terrier to produce a small breed that is slightly longer than it is tall with a robust build that shows both agility and endurance. This is a hardy little dog with short legs and a long tail and it usually has the large, erect ears of the Cairn Terrier, although some will droop like the Jack Russel Terrier.

The coat of the Cairn Terrier is usually rough and wiry. It should have two coats, a dense undercoat and a harsher outercoat and it should be medium in length.  There should be a beard and eyebrows in the coat and some Jacairn will have a topknot. The color of the Jacairn can be gray, tan, black, red, brindle or white with markings in any of the colors.
