Breed Description:

The Italian Greyhuahua breed of dog is a toy-sized breed that was developed by crossing the Italian Greyhound with the Chihuahua. The breed is usually thin and athletic with well-balanced proportions and an agile grace about them. They tend to have the stockier form of the Chihuahua but still have the streamlined grace of the Italian Greyhound. The Italian Greyhuahua often has the rabbit-like feet of the Italian Greyhound but the large ears and round head of the Chihuahua.

The coat of the Italian Greyhuahua is short and sleek. It should cover the body but there is only one layer to the coat and it should be soft to the touch. The colors of the Greyhuahua can be gray, black, cream, white, fawn, red, blue, chestnut, sable and black and tan. The coat can be solid in color, splashed, parti-colored or any combination of markings.

The Italian Greyhuahua is often built like the Italian Greyhound but it is stocky like the Chihuahua. They have large rabbit feet, powerful strong legs, and barrel chest which make them into strong and fast runners with great endurance. The bones and muscles on the Italian Greyhauhau are bigger than the Italian Greyhound which can make them heaver than an Italian Greyhound. But the legs on this breed are normally shorter and more stocky then the Italian Greyhound. Favorable characteristics are thier beautiful large sight hound eyes, distinctive Italian Greyhound ears, the powerful deep bark of the Greyhound, and a soft satin fur coat.
