Breed Description: 

The Havaton breed of dog was developed by crossing the Havanese with the Coton de Tulear to produce a toy-sized breed. They are a compact dog that is sturdy with muscular legs and a robust build. They should be slightly longer than they are tall and they should never be overweight. The tail is usually carried high and it should fold over the back in a loose curl.

The coat of the Havaton is usually soft to the touch and long. The hair can have a slight curl to it but is usually wavy with a fluffy appearance. The legs are often covered in short hair and the hair on the head is long and can cover the dog's eyes.  The colors of the Havaton can be white, white and black, black, cream, silver, gold, and blue and they can be found in parti-color as well as tri-color.

Temperament: 
The Havaton breed of dog is an affectionate dog that is happy and cheerful. They have a very sweet disposition and love spending time with their owners and just cuddling with them. They can be very playful and are generally eager to please. The Havaton does very well with children and tend to be patient with them. In addition, they do well with other dogs and pets in the home. This is an excellent breed for a multi-pet family.

The average height of a Havaton is between 8 to 12 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Havaton is between 7 to 15 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Havaton breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Havanese and the Coton De Tulear to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Havaton breed of dog is a versatile breed that can live in both apartments and small homes. Tehy don't need a lot of room and are not usually very yappy. They should not live outdoors.
Exercise: 
The Havaton breed of dog does not require a lot of exercise and should recieve one or two walks per day.
Life Expectancy: 
14 to 16 years
Grooming: 
The Havaton breed of dog is a low shedding dog and is considered to be a hypo-allergenic breed. They do require daily grooming, however, you can clip their coats and then only need to brush them once per week. The hair around the feet and in the ears should be trimmed on a regular basis to prevent matting and infection. In addition, the Havaton does not require a large number of baths and can go several months without one. They have a low doggy odor and can be kept tidy very easily by wiping them down with a damp cloth.
Origin: 
The Havaton breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Havaton, it is important to read up on both the Coton De Tulear and the Havanese.
