Breed Description: 

The Havachon is a toy sized breed of dog that was developed by crossing the Havanese with the Bichon Frise.  They are a small, compact dog that is robust in build. They are usually thinner than the Havanese parent but do not have a fragile appearance to them. The tail is usually carried over the back in a loose curl.

The coat of the Havachon is usually soft in texture and should have a loose curl or wave to it.  Colors can be white, gray, cream, black, gold, apricot, blue, and silver. They can be found in solid colors as well as parti and tri-colors.

 

Temperament: 
The Havachon breed of dog is a loving and happy breed. They are usually very affectionate and thrive as companions. They love to make their owners laugh and they are generally a very intelligent dog that can find new ways to mischievous. They are usually independent as compared to other smaller breeds but they also don't mind simply relaxing with the people they love. Generally, the Havachon gets along with everyone and they do very well with children, other pets and other dogs.

The average height of a Havachon is between 8 to 12 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight of a Havachon is between 7 to 13 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Havachon breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Havanese and the Bichon Frise to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Havachon breed of dog can live just about anywhere and they do very well in apartments. They should never be an outdoor dog and they do not do well in kennel settings since they are a companion breed and meant to be companions.
Exercise: 
The Havachon breed of dog is easy to exercise and usually only needs between one or two walks per day to dispel their energy. That being said, the Havachon does enjoy playing so expect to play a number of games each day to keep your dog happy.

14 to 15 years
Grooming: 
The Havachon breed of dog is very easy to groom and is usually kept in a clipped coat that only needs to be brushed once a week. If they are kept in a full coat, you should expect to brush them two or three times per week. Bathing can be done once or twice a week but you may need to wash their faces and around their eyes on a weekly basis to keep them tidy. Hair around the paw should also be trimmed and nails should be kept short.
Origin: 
The Havachon is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Havachon, it is important to read up on both the Bichon Frise and the Havanese.
