Green Dog Toys

We are very excited about the enlarging sphere of green and eco friendly dog toys. While chews like rawhide are an old and still viable chew toy, it is known that the raw hide can cause stomach upset when ingested. So, new ideas and products that give the pet’s equal pleasure but not the upset are well worth noting. That is what this area of the site is all about.

Now, in truth, nothing is more eco friendly and will not cost you a dime than tossing your dog a good small branch of a tree to fetch. Many a dog is happy with an old tennis ball to fetch. A rope tied with knots can make a great play tug toy for a dog. Nonetheless, there is a world of business in pet toys. In that world, this site wants to point out those toys that are eco friendly and green. We do that because we care what your pet puts in his mouth, and how that toy might affect the environment in which we all live. Some of our selections are made because the manufacturing process of the producers minimizes waste. Some of the toys we like because scrap materials are used to create new toys, recycling materials throughout the manufacturing process, or organic materials are used giving Green options a place to shout, “Halleluiah.”

As we move along through space and time, we hope that our community will post news of “green toys” they have tried, and are avid fans and friends of, willing to make comments for others to read. Take the “Hurley” toy. It bounces, floats and is guaranteed against dog damage. Yet, it also is made from material that is recyclable. As the proof is in the pudding, we are waiting for pet owners to state their experiences with the toys they use for their pets. Good news and bad news is wanted. Organic toys are out there now, with removable squeakers. They are saliva resistant, and made with untreated cotton threads. Does that sound safe and useful to you when considering a pet toy? I think so.

My dogs love the organic toys with multiple squeakers hidden inside.
