Grooming:

During heavy shedding periods, expect to groom this dog every day and also be prepared for a large amount of hair in your home. Origin:
The French Brittany breed of dog, also known as the Epagneul Breton, was developed in France as a versatile hunting dog that could work in the field as both a retrieving and pointing breed. Although the breed is believed to be very old, much of its history has only been documented to the early 1900's, when a man by the name of Arthur Enaud and several other fanciers of the breed, wrote the first breed standard. Because of this, not much is known about the development of the French Brittany or how it arrived in Europe. While the breed's versatility was admired by many hunters and sportsmen, the breed did not gain much popularity and it wasn't until 1931 that the first French Brittany was imported into the United States.
