Breed Description: 

The Free-Lance Bulldog breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the English Bulldog with the French Bulldog. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Free-Lance Bulldog will have qualities of both parents. They are usually a small to medium sized breed of dog that has a stocky, almost square build. They should have a wide chest and head with narrow hips giving them a top heavy appearance. The head should have a short, brachycephalic muzzle and there should be deep folds and wrinkles on the head and face. The ears can be small and rose shaped, but more commonly, they are the large, erect ears of the French Bulldog parent. In many ways, the Free-Lance Bulldog looks like a larger French Bulldog.

The coat of the Free-Lance Bulldog should be short and close to the skin. It should cover the dog completely and have a shiny appearance. The texture is usually medium in roughness. The Free-Lance Bulldog can be found in any of the colors of the parent breeds but the most common is dark brindle and white

Temperament: 
The Free-Lance Bulldog breed of dog is a peaceful and affectionate breed that is known for being very gentle and loving. This is a loyal breed that usually relaxed in life and while some can be energetic, many prefer to relax during the day. The breed is very good with children and are often gentle and patient with them. They are usually little sweethearts with a funny personality but they can be very stubborn when they want to be. The Free-Lance Bulldog does well with other non-canine pets but socialization is important for them to be accepting of other dogs.

The average height for a Free-Lance Bulldog is between 12 to16 inches.

The average weight for a Free-Lance Bulldog is between 25 to 55 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Free-Lance Bulldog breed of dog has no known health problems, however, is important to research both the English Bulldog and the French Bulldog to be aware of any potential health problems your dog could be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Free-Lance Bulldog breed of dog can do well in any living condition and can make an excellent pet for apartments. They should not be outdoor dogs and care should be taken since they can be susceptible to heat exhaustion and will need protection during the cold months.
Exercise: 
The Free-Lance Bulldog breed of dog are considered to have an average activity level and will need between 20 to 30 minutes of exercise each day. Generally, two good walks will meet their needs but it is also important to give them an opportunity for off leash exercise as well.

Grooming: 
The Free-Lance Bulldog breed of dog is a very easy breed to groom and they require little to no maintenance to keep their coats healthy. On average, you should expect to brush your dog on a weekly basis to remove dead hairs and dirt. A wipe down with a damp cloth will keep them clean and they should only be bathed when it is absolutely necessary. Ears should be cleaned on a regular basis and nails should be clipped once or twice a month. The only other task is to wipe down the dog's face, wrinkles and around the eyes on a daily basis to reduce the risk of skin infections.
Origin: 
The Free-Lance Bulldog breed of dog is a designer `hybrid` breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Free-Lance Bulldog, it is important to read up on both the English Bulldog and the French Bulldog.
