Breed Description: 

The Eurasier breed of dog is a medium sized breed of dog that should be robust and well-balanced. They should have a large, broad head with small erect ears that are set moderately high. The top line should be level and strong and the body should be slightly longer than it is tall. The tail should curve over the back.

The coat of the Eurasier is full and dense. There should be a short, dense undercoat and a long top coat that is thick and medium in texture. The coat should have feathering on the tail, back of the legs, belly and there should be a mane around the neck and shoulders.  The coat of the Eurasier can be tan with black hairs, tan and black or black.

Temperament: 
The Eurasier breed of dog is a reserved and intelligent dog that is known for being very loyal with their family, although they tend to sit back and watch their family than doting on them. However, despite this, it doesn't mean the breed is not affectionate and they are actually very devoted to their family, often suffering from separation anxiety when they are left alone too long. They do very well with children and can learn to be accepting of other pets and dogs.
Height: 
The average height for an Eurasier is between 16 to 18 inches for a female and 20 to 24 inches for a male.
Weight: 
The average weight for an Eurasier is between 40 to 60 pounds for a female and 50 to 70 pounds for a male.
Health Problems: 
The Eurasier breed of dog is considered to be a very healthy breed and there are no known health problems at this time.
Living Conditions: 
The Eurasier breed of dog can do very well in apartments if they are exercised properly, however, the ideal is a home with a fenced yard. They should not live outdoors since they thrive when they are with their family.
Exercise: 
The Eurasier breed of dog breed of dog is an active breed and does require about 30 to 45 minutes of exercise each day to stay happy and healthy.
Life Expectancy: 
11 to 13 years
Grooming: 
The Eurasier breed of dog does require a fair amount of grooming and you should expect to brush them two or three times a week at a minimum. During heavy shedding periods, expect to groom this dog every day and also be prepared for a large amount of hair in your home. The Eurasier should be bathed two or three times a year and the hair around the feet and under the ears should be trimmed on a regular basis to prevent matting and infections from occurring.
Origin: 
The Eurasier breed of dog was originally a mixed breed, however, it has begun to breed true and has been accepted by several registries including the FCI. The breed was developed by crossing the Samoyed, Keeshond and the Chow-Chow. It can be traced back to one German kennel, owned by Julius Wipfel and was developed in during the 1960s.
