Dog
The Eskapoo breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the American Eskimo Dog with the Poodle. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Eskapoo will have qualities of both parents. They are usually a small sized breed of dog with a level top line and a compact and robust body. They often have a refined look to them without appearing too fragile. The breed usually has a wedge shaped head with medium sized ears that fold to the side or forward. The tail is usually long and curls over the back of the dog.
The coat of the Eskapoo can range from the long, silky coat of the American Eskimo Dog or the tight curls of the Poodle. Usually it is a medium length wavy coat with a dense, short undercoat. The Eskapoo can be found in any colors that are commonly seen in both parent breeds, although white is the most common color.

The standards for all the breeds accepted to the AKC are used here for breed information, and those not part of the AKC are resourced from FCI standard information, where it is written and coded into the club rules for those breeds.
