Dog

Pronunciation:
ing-am bool-dawg
Breed Description:

The EngAm Bulldog breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the American Bulldog with the English Bulldog.  Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next.  Generally, the EngAm Bulldog will have qualities of both parents with a short, hard textured coat and a long tapered tail. They should have a sturdy build that is compact and it should give the appearance of a muscular dog.  The body should be in proportion with their height and they should be fairly leggy, although males are usually stockier. The head should be broad with powerful jaws and the ears can either be rose shaped, folded forward or half pricked. The breed can be found in any color that is commonly seen in the parent breeds, however, common colors are white with brown or white with tan.

Temperament:
The EngAm Bulldog breed of dog is an affectionate and loving breed. While they are known for being very brave and confident, the breed is a loyal companion that will defend their home and family with everything in them. They are very intelligent and while they can learn easily, they are recommended for experienced and firm owners since they can be aggressive and will take on the role of the pack leader if their owner is not strong enough. They are better suited to homes with older children since the EngAm Bulldog needs plenty of socialization for them to accept people, animals and children. They do much better in single pet homes.
Height:
The average height for an EngAm Bulldog is between 20 to 28 inches.
Weight:
The average weight of an EngAm Bulldog is between 60 to 120 pounds.
Health Problems:
The EngAm Bulldog breed of dog has no known health problems, however, is important to research both the American Bulldog and the English Bulldog to be aware of any potential health problems your dog could be at risk for.
Living Conditions:
The EngAm Bulldog breed of dog can do very well in apartments if they are exercised properly, however, the ideal living condition is a home with a large fenced yard. In addition, while they do enjoy being outside, they should not be an outdoor dog; this is a breed that loves being with their owners. If they take after their English Bulldog parent, they can be very susceptible to heat exhaustion.
Exercise:
The EngAm Bulldog breed of dog can either be very active or very lazy depending on the breed it takes after but regardless, this is a breed that needs exercise. On average, they should receive between 30 to 45 minutes per day to keep them at a healthy weight.
Life Expectancy:
12 to 15 years
Grooming:
The EngAm Bulldog breed of dog is a very easy breed to groom and they require little to no maintenance to keep their coats healthy. On average, you should expect to brush your dog on a weekly basis to remove dead hairs and dirt. A wipe down with a damp cloth will keep them clean and they should only be bathed when it is absolutely necessary. Ears should be cleaned on a regular basis and nails should be clipped once or twice a month.
Origin:
The EngAm Bulldog breed of dog is a designer `hybrid` breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the EngAm Bulldog, it is important to read up on both the American Bulldog and the English Bulldog.
