Breed Description: 

The Doxiepoo breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Dachshund with the Toy and Miniature Poodle. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Doxiepoo will have qualities of both parents.  The Doxiepoo is a small sized breed of dog that should be slightly elongated, in a similar fashion as their Dachshund parent, although not as pronounced. The body should be robust and they should not appear delicate. They are usually low to the ground and the head is well proportioned ot the body. The ears are usually medium in length and hang down the side of the head while the tail is long.

The coat of the Doxiepoo is usually consists of two coats, the soft, short undercoat and a medium long topcoat that is dense and has a noticeable wave to it. It is important to note that they can have a range of coats including the short haired coat of the Dachshund. They can be found in any color common to the parent breeds but they are more commonly black, chocolate and black and tan.

Temperament: 
The Doxiepoo breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. However, they are known for being an energetic and playful dog that is very cheerful. In fact, they are often described as being a happy little dog that loves to be with their family at all times. They are very intelligent dogs that can learn quickly. The breed usually does well with other dogs and pets but they may chase smaller pocket pets. The breed does very well with children.

There is no specific height for the Doxiepoo.
Weight: 
The average weight for the Doxiepoo is between 5 and 15 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Doxiepoo breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Dachshund and the Toy or Miniature Poodle to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Doxiepoo breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Doxiepoo breed of dog does not have high exercise needs and only needs one or two good walk a day to meet them.
Life Expectancy: 
12 to 15 years
Grooming: 
The Doxiepoo breed of dog is an easy breed to care for and they only need to be brushed about once a week. The hair may need to be trimmed every month or two, especially around the face, ears and feet but in general, it can be left natural. Some owners opt to have the coat clipped for easier care. The Doxiepoo should only be bathed when he needs it and they can easily go two or three months between baths. Nails should be kept trimmed and the ears should be cleaned on a weekly basis.
Origin: 
The Doxiepoo breed of dog is a designer `hybrid`breed that has become popular over the last decade or so. There is no actual origin for the breed and if you are interested in learning more about the Yorkipoo, it is important to read up on both the Dachshund and the Toy or Miniature Poodle.
