Dog
The Doxie Scot breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Dachshund with the Scotish Terrier. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Doxie Scot will have qualities of both parents. The breed is usually a robust and barrel chested breed with an elongated body that is similar to their Dachshund parent. They usually have a broad head with long ears hanging down the side of the head. The top line should be level and the tail is usually long and tapers to a point.
The coat of the Doxie Scot can range in texture and length depending on the parent that they take after. Usually, it is medium length coat that has a wiry texture and appearance. The coat should have a shorter undercoat and the hair on the head, ears, and legs is commonly shorter than the rest of the dog. Many Doxie Scots have a mustache and eyebrows that they inherit from their Scottish Terrier parent. They can be found in any colors that are common for the parent breeds but the most common are either brown or a black and tan coat.
