Breed Description: 

The Doxie Scot breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Dachshund with the Scotish Terrier. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Doxie Scot will have qualities of both parents. The breed is usually a robust and barrel chested breed with an elongated body that is similar to their Dachshund parent. They usually have a broad head with long ears hanging down the side of the head. The top line should be level and the tail is usually long and tapers to a point.

The coat of the Doxie Scot can range in texture and length depending on the parent that they take after. Usually, it is medium length coat that has a wiry texture and appearance. The coat should have a shorter undercoat and the hair on the head, ears,and legs is commonly shorter than the rest of the dog. Many Doxie Scots have a mustache and eyebrows that they inherit from their Scottish Terrier parent. They can be found in any colors that are common for the parent breeds but the most common are either brown or a black and tan coat.

Temperament: 
The Doxie Scot breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. The breed is known as a very loyal and sweet little dog that has a bit of fire behind his gentle nature. While they love to be with their family, the Doxie Scot is no pushover and they are extremely brave. In fact, the Doxie Scot can often forget how small they are when they are defending their owners. The breed is usually good with children, although they are better suited to homes with older children. In addition, they need ample socialization so they can learn to accept other dogs.

Health Problems: 
The Doxie Scot breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Dachshund and the Scottish Terrier to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Doxie Scot breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Doxie Scot breed of dog can be an active breed that requires between 20 to 30 minutes of exercise each day. Generally, two good walks will meet their needs but it is also important to give them an opportunity for off leash exercise as well.
