Breed Description: 

The Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge breed of dog is a medium sized breed of dog that looks much larger.  They should be very muscular with wide shoulders and narrower hips. They should be powerful in size and should have a boxy head with a strong jaw and a slightly pushed in muzzle. . Ears are medium and are either folded forward or rose shaped. The tail can be long, cork screwed or pump handled and the top line should be level. 

The coat of the Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge should be short and hard textured.  There should be an obvious undercoat but the hair should lay flat on the dog and give a smooth appearance.  The coat color is generally brindle or black in coloring but they have also been found in blue, tan, gray and white. 

Temperament: 
The Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge breed of dog is a friendly and happy dog that is considered to be very intelligent and loyal. This large dog is happy to lay in their owner's lap throughout the day or be out running with them and they are actually versatile in their living needs. The breed does very well with children and tend to be very patient with them. They are extremely protective of everyone in their family and can make an excellent guard dog. The breed can do well with other dogs but socialization is important.

The average height for a Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge is between 19 to 21 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight for a Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge is between 60 to 90 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge breed of dog is considered to be a healthy breed and has no known health problems at this time.
Living Conditions: 
The Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge breed of dog can do very well in apartments if they are exercised properly, however, the ideal living condition is a home with a large fenced yard. This breed can do very well as an outdoor dog but they will need proper protection from the elements if they do.
Exercise: 
The Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge breed of dog can be an active dog, however, they can also be quite lazy. Regardless of their temperament, they do need about 45 minutes of exercise each day to keep them healthy and happy.

12 to 14 years
Grooming: 
The Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge breed of dog is a very easy breed to groom and they require little to no maintenance to keep their coats healthy. On average, you should expect to brush your dog on a weekly basis to remove dead hairs and dirt. A wipe down with a damp cloth will keep them clean and they should only be bathed when it is absolutely necessary. Ears should be cleaned on a regular basis and nails should be clipped once or twice a month.
Origin: 
The Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldogge breed of dog is not considered to be a mixed breed but currently, it is not accepted by any kennel clubs as a purebred breed. They are actually a fairly new breed that was developed to look similar to how the original Bulldog looked in the 1500's but there is very little information on what went into creating the breed but we do know that the breed was developed by Steve Barnett in the late 1980's.
