Breed Description: 

The Dorgi breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Dachshund with the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next. Generally, the Dorgi will have qualities of both parents. They should be a small sized breed of dog that is set low to the ground with short legs and an elongated body. They usually have a round head, large, pendulous ears and a thin muzzle. The top line is usually level and the tail can be either long or naturally bobbed.

The coat of the Dorgi is short and close to the skin. It should cover the dog fully and can be any color that is commonly seen in the parent breeds. The most common colors are black and tan, red, and grizzled.

Temperament: 
The Dorgi breed of dog is a designer breed and because of this, their temperament can vary greatly. However, they are known for being a fun loving breed of dog that is intelligent and loyal to their family. This is a companion breed that is very social and usually gets along well with everyone. The breed does very well with children of all ages and they can do well with other dogs and pets. This is a happy little breed that thrives when they are with their family.

The average height for a Dorgi is between 10 to 15 inches.
Weight: 
The average weight for a Dorgi is between 18 to 25 pounds.
Health Problems: 
The Dorgi breed of dog has no known health problems, however, it is important to read up on both the Dachshund and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi to be aware of the health problems your puppy may be at risk for.
Living Conditions: 
The Dorgi breed of dog is versatile when it comes to living conditions and they can live in both apartments and homes with yards. They should not live outdoors and do best when they are inside with their family as a companion dog.
Exercise: 
The Dorgi breed of dog does not have high exercise needs and only needs one or two good walk a day to meet them.

Grooming: 
The Dorgi breed of dog has a short coat that is very easy to care for. Weekly brushing should be done to remove dead hair and the coat can be wiped down with a wet cloth to keep them clean. Ears should be cleaned on a regular basis and nails should be trimmed once or twice a week.
