Breed Description:

The Daug breed of dog is a "designer" or mixed breed that was created by crossing the Dachshund with the Pug.  Because of this, a breed type has not been established and the looks and temperament of the dog can greatly change from one puppy to the next.  Generally, the Daug will have qualities of both parents.  They should be a small sized breed of dog that is set low to the ground with short legs and an elongated body. They usually have a round head with a short muzzle but not as short as a Pug. The breed has triangular ears that are folded forward and their top line is level with either a long tail or a curled tail like the Pug.

The coat of the Daug is short and close to the skin. It should cover the dog fully and can be any color that is commonly seen in the parent breeds. The most common colors are a grizzled tan, fawn with a black mask or black.
