Breed Description:
These dogs are quick, lively, very active, fearless and courageous. They bond closely with both their owner and with the entire family. They can get along well with other pets but they must be taught not to seek out and hunt other animals. Good socialization is extremely important with these dogs from a young age. They do not always train easily and they need to be giving good motivation for training and learning. They should not be isolated.

Exercise:
This is a very active breed of dog and they require a great deal of daily exercise in order to maintain good health and to avoid developing behavior problems.

Grooming:

Origin:
The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog breed of dog is the result of cross breeding a German Shepherd Dog and a Eurasian Wolf in 1955, followed by subsequent similar matings. After 1965 a plan was worked out to develop the breed. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog breed of dog was recognized by the FCI in 1999. The breed is currently in the AKC Foundation Stock Service. The breed was registered with the Kennel Club in the UK in 2002/03 and, at the same time, banned, causing some confusion. There is currently no ban on the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog breed of dog in the UK.
