Breed Description: 

The Czech Warmblood breed of horse is strong-boned and powerful, with a muscular neck, elegant long back and body, and solid flat hooves. Its mane and tail are both thick and lustrous. Most members of the Czech Warmblood breed of horse are black, chestnut, or bay. Some are palomino or dun. Czech Warmbloods are known for their willing natures and their relentlessness. They are well-suited to most horse sports, including dressage and horse racing, and are also capable of lighter farm and forest work, jumping, and hunting.

Origin: 
The Czech Warmblood breed of horse existed prior to the time of the Austria-Hungary Empire (1876-1918). In the 19th century, the breed was crossed into Spanish and Italian horses, and later was influenced by the Furioso, Gidran, Nonius, and Przedswit breeds. German Warmblood horses also played a part. Like other warmbloods, the Czech Warmblood breed of horse is continuing to evolve and does not have a closed stud book.
