Breed Description: 

Both breeds involved in the Colonial Cocker Spaniel breed of dog are sweet, loving, gentle and quite intelligent.  They often make excellent family dogs.  However, studies indicate that the English Cocker Spaniel is prone to RAGE syndrome and some individuals may not always have a stable temperament, especially around children and other pets.  If you are interested in a Colonial Cocker Spaniel breed of dog you should inquire about the temperament of the parents and particularly about any incidents of RAGE in the parents.
